[NEWS] MBLAQ, Moving Away From the Light of Rain

Sina Entertainment News - In the entertainment world where the old is quickly replaced by the new, the shelf-life of popularity is extremely short. One may be an entertainment headliner today, yet could be replaced by newcomers tomorrow. But no matter where their stardom leads them, their brightest moments should be remembered, and Sina's Korean Entertainment "A Star a Week" is meant to touch everyone by following [the star's] road to success.

This week's "A Star a Week" is the group who recently made a comeback, MBLAQ. They debuted into the song industry under the light of Rain. After 2 years of hard work, they finally found their own place. The new album released this time "100% Ver." shows their determination to seek perfection, and has the current MBLAQ really gotten to 100% yet? Please determine it yourself!

Seeking 100% Perfection
MBLAQ made their recent comeback with a strong style and an intoxicating title song. They perform on stage with ease, their music has a even stronger impressibility, and not only was their appearance changed, but each member of MBLAQ underwent a new challenge. Lead vocal Seungho challenged rap this time, and Cheondung showed improvement in both rap and vocal. Each person gave out their opinions during the album's preparation; This is a sign of their becoming more mature. Seungho: "The reason why this album is called '100% Ver.' is because its degree of perfection is very high, and our ability also improved. Everyone of the company all agreed to call the album this name."

The production of the album's title song "This is War" took a year and a half. The members' singing, rap, narration, sound effects, etc., blend together perfectly. This kind of dark-styled song is not often seen lately in the song industry. At the same time, the song is full of dramatic conflict; when you close your eyes to listen, it seems like the picture is vivid in your mind.

"100% Ver.", other than the title song, also includes "Run", "Scribble", "Hello My Ex" and others, in total 5 songs. The song about love's war, "This is War", uses a 50-person orchestra, yet as a whole it's a hip-hop song. Each member expressed satisfaction with the songs of the album. The choreography is also a noteworthy highlight.

MBLAQ's Overseas Expedition
MBLAQ has already debuted 2 years. After their debut in October of 2009, they've already released 4 mini-albums and 1 full-length album. Last year in Japan, MBLAQ released their first single "Your Luv" and their second single "Baby U!", both of which gained success on the Oricon chart. Now, MBLAQ has taken a step abroad. When asked about each member's overseas popularity, the boys gave interesting answers. Lee Joon is very popular in Japan, Mir is considered to look like Ronaldinho so is quite famous in Brazil, Seungho and Cheondung are popular in Taiwan and Thailand, and fair-skinned G.O is popular around the world... Though some parts are jokes, but MBLAQ has truly developed overseas in an orderly manner, this year they will hold an Asia tour in 6 countries.

MBLAQ on Rain....
As the idol group trained by popularity king Rain, MBLAQ has worn a colorful light since their debut, and after their debut, they received stricter critiques of the public. Sunbae Rain to them, though their model, is also the source of their stress. Before debuting MBLAQ thought that they just needed to advance forward with Rain to gain success, but with their development in the song industry, MBLAQ became more and more away of their own inadequacy. To prepare of this time's new album, Seungho underwent a diet with blood and tears. He said that since he was too hungry, he sang every line with sweat. At least the harsh diet is successful; we can see his handsome body line now. Other than Seungho, they all have unseen difficulties that they want to confess but don't have the chance to confess. MBLAQ wants to become a 100% perfect group. On their road to perfection, though we don't experience their hardships with them, but we can definitely understand them.
