Editor’s Note

The beginning of 2012, how’s has it been for everyone?
This issue, under Trendy’s team hard work with a strong heart and finally achieving the approval from the management company and record company, was able to have both TVXQ and Kim Hyun Joong on the covers.

Meeting TVXQ in Taiwan this time round reminded me of my last interview in Bangkok for the Hallyu Wave Concert where I overheard something during the backstage interview: A member from a male idol group was happily sharing with his members that he met senior TVXQ’s Yunho outside their resting room and after exchanging greetings, he didn’t expect Yunho to initiate asking about him and his members, making him happy and excited. This also lead to other members unbelievably exclaiming, “Is it true?” Looking at their excited looks, I trust that Yunho’s friendly concern must have given these juniors a great encouragement. I think that for TVXQ to be so popular in the whole Asia and even stepping on the international stage, besides their own strong abilities, there are surely other reasons as well.

TVXQ’s Grand Visit To Taiwan, Reviving The Red Ocean Craze
Upon fans’ long awaited anticipation, TVXQ finally came to Taiwan again. TVXQ who came after a long absence not only held the Fan Party for the first time in Taiwan, they sincerely held a total of two sessions of Fan Party in order to have more time with fans and meet more fans.

SHOW TIME
With scenic art as the stage background and the introduction music of Maximum began ringing, ripples of red ocean sound waves move towards the stage at the live scene. Yunho appeared first with his dynamic charismatic dances, causing screams in an instant. When Changmin appeared on stage with a slight chest-revealing sexy black blazer, it made the red ocean hit the highest point! Although it is a Fan Party, TVXQ prepared 5 songs and a medley, satisfying every Cassiopeia’s sight and hearing there. Fully showing their singing and dancing abilities, TVXQ’s charismatic-filled performance was never enough. Hopefully they will quickly come to Taiwan for a concert soon!

TALKING TIME
This time round, TVXQ met their fans through Fan Party and just like what Yunho had said: There are actually many things in (my) heart to be said to everyone. During the talking segment at the Fan Party, Yunho and Changmin seems to be chatty and were having funny interesting and even comical conversation, making everyone laughed till their cheeks were sore! For both sessions, Changmin mentioned that his biggest change is that his “liver function has gotten better”, making Yunho teased Changmin with, “Fans who are kind and good will be able to see Changmin’s liver!” Then he looked at Changmin and said, “The colour (of the liver) seems pretty!”, which made Changmin can’t help laughing. Probably its because they are in front of Cassiopeias, it felt relaxed and they answered to fans’ questions and requests. Changmin sang a part of Profession (T/N: CM’s solo, Confession) and Yunho also showed his amazing dancing abilities with everybody’s help with the tempo clapping. Lastly the duo even answered the request of posing as though it was a poster shoot. This made Changmin unable to endure longer and protested, “Didn’t we agree that it is only a Q & A (talking) session?”, arousing laughters in the audience. The great mood of TVXQ duo can be felt by the increasing frequency of Yunho’s hearty laughters and the never-ending smiles appeared on Changmin’s face~!

Super Caring Fan Support From Cassiopeia
For the special fan support to celebrate TVXQ’s 8th anniversary at the Fan Party, fans especially prepared a video, cake and banners for everyone in the audience to hold up, making a warm and moving atmosphere on and off stage causing people to tear up. Not only that, there was a charity event by Taiwan Cassiopeia outside the event hall. The pile of “rice support” carried forward their love for TVXQ to others, creating the warmest support in the cold winter. Trendy just have to applaud these kindhearted Cassiopeia, giving them loads of “Great”!

SPECIAL TIME

The most unique for these two sessions of Fan Party has to be TVXQ’s “Joy of Drink Shaking” time. The duo who loved Taiwan’s pearl milk tea, confidently showed a OK sign for concocting the drink. For the 1st session, it was the pearl milk tea. Their focused looks made every Cassiopeia off-stage start to be jealous of the shaking flasks in their hands. Yunho even snuck a few mouthful of the drink while concocting, whereby Changmin looked professionally as though he is the owner of a tea drink stall. Just then, Changmin who was earnestly shaking the flask, suddenly jumped far away. It was actually due to the lid of Yunho’s flask that ‘flew’ off, resulting in almost half of the drink spilling over on Changmin’s clothing. The unexpected accident made the duo laughed and Yunho was smiling while helping to wipe the milk tea off Changmin’s clothes quickly. Probably due to the afternoon session’s ‘mishandling’, during the drink concoction section in the evening session, Yunho not only took off his gloves and even carefully shook the flask with minimal movement. This cute action made everyone laughed. He added, “Due to my huge action in the afternoon, I spilled the drink all over Changmin. Now I will be very careful.” For the duo who greatly loved the Taiwan drink, they finished the drink they’d made themselves in the afternoon and evening sessions. We believed that this interesting Special Time will remained in both TVXQ and Cassiopeia as a very special memory!

Press Conference Quick Report
Time: 10th December 2011 (Saturday)
Venue: The Sherwood Taipei
Donning individuality stylish black suits, TVXQ duo appeared handsomely and right upon arriving at the press conference, they immediately spoke in Chinese, “Ni Hao~ Ni Hao~” (T/N: Hello in Chinese) and greeted everyone. When the two had their formal introduction, they did it the local way with Taiwanese language, “Da Geh Ho! (Hello everyone!) We are TVXQ.”, surprising everyone.
Ever since the crowding of a thousand of fans at Songshan airport, Yunho and Changmin have already deeply felt the passion of the fans, to which Yunho said, “It’s been a long time since we are in Taiwan. We saw so many fans at the airport, it has been very touching.” Changmin continued, “Thanks to all the fans who came to welcome us at the airport, it is very heartwarming.” Under the host’s request, the duo spoke in Chinese about their longing for the fans.
Yunho said he practiced before he come to Taiwan and it was, “Hao Jiu Bu Jian, Wo Fei Chang Xiang Ni Men. Wo Ai Ni Men. (It’s been so long. I missed you all a lot. I love you all.)” Upon hearing Yunho who spoke so much, Changmin teasingly said that his favourite Chinese words are, “Wo Zui Chong Ming! (I am the smartest!)”, making everyone laughed. Yunho also laughed out loud. Changmin blushed after saying that and quickly added on, “Wo Hen Xiang Nian Da Jia. (I missed everybody a lot.)”
Ice Sculpture of Significance
In order to pre-celebrate the success of TVXQ’s first Fan Party in Taiwan, the record company especially prepared a huge ice sculpture of “TVXQ” wordings and prepared the red roselle tea for Yunho and Changmin to pour into the ice sculpture themselves. Yunho with a focused look was hearing the translator lady explaining about what is roselle tea and he made a look of “Oh~ it is like this.” after understanding it, while Changmin was curiously looking at the roselle tea in the bottle.
TVXQ’s Maintenance Secret?
During the press conference, the duo were asked if there are any food items or places that they wish to eat or visit?
Yunho chose the Taipei 101 building without hesitation and smiled saying. “I would like to go secretly. The night view of Taipei on top of the 101 building should be very beautiful right!” As for Changmin, he said that he would like to try green bean paste shaved ice. Upon hearing that there are many different flavors in Taiwan, his eyes brightened and said, “If there’s a chance, I would like to eat the all-flavours-in-one shaved ice.”
For the question on “how do you take care of your voice”, Changmin first jokingly said, “Eat a lot of shaved ice.” He then continued to confess that he did not have any control on food intake and especially loves spicy food, and if there is a way, it’s probably just drinking lots of water. For Yunho, he said he would have a good meal and exercise for daily maintenance. He said that when he felt uninspired, he would go exercise to hype up himself but smiled and said, “When I’m too exhausted, the best way is still sleeping.”
100% Warm Guys

Regarding their plan for new year, other than the Japan tour that is starting in January and the wish to visit Taiwan again to meet everybody, the duo revealed their wish to take on the drama challenge again. Changmin said that he wish to participate in Taiwanese drama and that he felt that “Chiling Jie Jie” (T/N: a nickname in Taiwan for Lin Chiling, a supermodel-turned-actress) is very elegantly beautiful after watching the movie Red Cliff and hope to work with her if there’s a chance. As for Yunho who had taken on action scenes before, he wish to participate in melodrama or movie, challenging the crying scenes.
At the end of the press conference, Yunho once again expressed that he was very moved by the passion of fans upon arriving at the airport and very anticipated the Fan Party and to have a great time with everyone, leaving beautiful memories behind. Changmin added on, “The weather has turned cold and it is also raining. Hoped that fans will take care of themselves and don’t catch a cold.” They are indeed warm guys who adore their fans.

Interesting Tidbit Story
Although they are superstars of heavenly kings status, other than the charismatic and confidence portrayed by Yunho and Changmin, there are still some shyness and cuteness. Upon seeing the Fan Party official goods, they revealed their child-like curiosity looks and kept browsing the items, while discussing in a a whisper tone. Their looks are really adorable. Time to time, scenes like the duo shyly smiled and lowering their head would happened and this surprisingly allowed everyone to see the other charm of TVXQ.

Additionally, TVXQ who caused a craze in Asia, visited Taiwan after a long while and this time they had a very Taiwan-styled afternoon tea date with Nice Guy (T/N: it is a nickname for Ken Wu, who also calls himself that, due to a programme I Love JK). Have everyone watched the very funny and interesting interview in ‘I Love JK’? I trust that after the ‘bribery’ of delicious Taiwanese food prepared by Nice Guy, TVXQ would not let everyone wait for another 3 years before the next visit, right!
