Group JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong (26) will be having his own fanmeeting in Turkey on the 5th (Korean time).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) announced on 3 Feb that Kim Jaejoong would be holding a solo fanmeet event at the auditorium of Ankara University, by invitation from the Korea Cultural Centre in Turkey.
According to MCST, the Hallyu culture has swept Turkey. This fanmeeting would play an important role in developing the Hallyu culture, and provides and an opportunity for cultural exchange between Turkey and Korea.
The tickets were made available on a first-come, first-serve basis via application through the Korea Cultural Centre website, and all 600 seats were sold out within 30 minutes.
Personnel at the Korea Cultural Centre in Turkey stated that, “More than 2000 people flocked to the website to purchase tickers within a few hours.” The Korea Cultural Centre and the Korean Embassy also received a large number or calls from fans who had not managed to purchase tickets.
On 1 February, news of Jaejoong’s fanmeet made the front page of a newspaper in Turkey.
