MBC‘s Infinity Challenge has been cancelled for the last 3 months due to the labor strike, but there is new speculation that suggests the show may soon be making a comeback.
According to MBLAQ‘s schedule for the month of April that was posted on their homepage on April 19th, member Lee Joon was penciled in to film for ‘Infinity Challenge’ on April 26th.
Ahead of this, a representative from MBC remarked, “There are no planned film shoots as of now. I do know that they are holding some internal meetings.”
But it is well known that ‘Infinity Challenge’ films every Thursday, and seeing how Lee Joon is scheduled to appear on set for next week’s shoot, it looks as though Infinity Challenge may come back on the air somewhat soon.
MBLAQ’s agency JTune Camp remarked, “We don’t know exactly when the segment will air,” explaining that they too have not heard anything in regards to the strike.
Netizens who are eager for both the show to return to television and for Lee Joon’s appearance commented, “What is going on with the strike now?”, “Is the show really coming back?”, and more, showing their explosive interest and anticipation.
‘Infinity Challenge’ was cancelled after MBC’s labor strike began towards the end of January, airing substitute episodes after ‘HaHa vs Hongchul, the second story’, and fans are eagerly awaiting the show to air a new episode.
The ‘Infinity Challenge’ staff members did reveal that on April 26th, they wil be wrapping up the shoot for the ‘Lee Na Young‘ episode which they previously began before the strike. This does not yet mean that Infinity Challenge will resume filming as they once had, but it does give a sliver of hope for the viewers who are anxiously waiting to watch a new episode.
