MBLAQ’s Lee Joon has revealed his past as an uljjang (a slang word meaning ‘best face’ to describe someone who possesses good looks).On the May 1 broadcast of SBS’ Strong Heart, Lee Joon revealed the past photo from his pre-debut days that made him famous online. The picture showed a side-profile of a baby-faced Lee Joon with longer hair. Upon the photo’s release at the time, he became famous online and recognized by the online community as an uljjang.
During the episode, however, Lee Joon revealed that everything about the photo had been staged. “I asked a friend in the arts department who majored in photography to take the photo and everything from the background to the lighting was planned,” revealed Lee Joon. “When my friend would tell me to stop, I would hold perfectly still everything, from my eyes to my lips, to create the perfect uljjang angle.”
Lee Joon went on to say that after becoming famous online for his pictures, he was able to hold an audition and debut as a singer.
