[NEWS] 121024 Musical ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’ is going to Japan…Hallyu idols are appearing


Musical ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’ is going to have a tour performance.

According to the publisher ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’, the musical is going to be performed at Shin-kabuki Theater in Osaka from November 10 to December 2 and Meiji Theater in Tokyo from January 1 to 27 in 2013.

An official of Gwanghwamun Sonata said, “The musical was made by 100% Korean, including the work, actors and staffs, and is getting loyalty from Japan. It’s meaningful that Korean work with Korean music without any foreign culture is exported to overseas country.”


Korean publisher, Yomimuri Broadcasting and local theaters in Japan directed expansion of ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’ to Japan. Whether the musical gets successful or not, the system is going to provide intellectual property rights to Korean creators, loyalty from profit. The rights of the music in the musical are in charge of JASRAC.


Gwanghwamun Sonata said, “We sold 70% of the whole seats just in a day after ticket selling.” At this tour, there will be many Hallyu idols such as Yun-Ho of ‘TVXQ’, ‘Super Nova’, Choi Min-Hwan of ‘FT Island’ and Kevin of ‘ZE:A’. Also, there will be many actors including existing actors, Cho Seong-Mo, Park Ho-San, Lisa, Kim Tae-Han, and the new actors such as Ko Yeong-Bin, Lee Chang-Hee, Jang Eun-Ah and Kim Tae-Hun.

Also, for celebrating 20th years of Korea-China diplomatic relations, ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata’ is going to be held as a showcase in Beijing in December with an invitation from Chinese Government. The musical will be performed in local in the next year, and is planning for a tour for Koreans in local.
