[NEWS] ′I Miss You′ Sparks Controversy Regarding Teenage Rape Scene

MBC′s I Miss You has sparked controversy over its depiction of teenage rape.

On the November 14 broadcast of MBC′s I Miss You, a 15-year-old boy and girl were kidnapped and dragged to an empty warehouse. There, Lee Soo Yeon (Kim So Hyun) was raped in front of her boyfriend, Han Jung Woo (Yeo Jin Gu).

No explicit scenes aired during the scene, as it mostly showed Han Jung Woo′s expressions as the tragedy happened in front of his very eyes, but many viewers have pointed out it was too much.

In the end, Han Jung Woo leaves Lee Soo Yeon behind and escapes the scene alone. This turned out to be the big incident that ripped the two lovers apart.

As soon as the episode aired, viewers took to the drama′s forums to comment, "Teenage rape in a drama is too much" and "I was watching with my family and I felt so uncomfortable," while some said, "The scene was needed for the story" and "Things like this really could happen in real life."

Kim So Hyun tweeted about the episode as soon as it aired, "Your hearts broke after you watched I Miss You today, right? I didn′t have to act it out explicitly, but I had to show the emotions so it was hard and painful. Still, I filmed it while hoping that such things won′t happen in real life."

Following the conclusion of the incident in the drama, JYJ′s Park Yoo Chun, Yun Eun Hye, Yoo Seung Ho and Jang Mi In Ae will soon replace the child actors as their adult counterparts.

[NEWS] ‘I Miss You’ Leaves Viewers Haunted Despite Low Ratings

Despite a continuous streak of low ratings, MBC’s I Miss You has put viewers and netizens in deep discussion over a disturbing scene in Wednesday’s episode.

A kidnapping incident leads to the raping of Soo Yeon, which caught viewers by surprise, as such issues aren′t often broadcasted on Korean television.

While some groups have disagreed with the author’s choice to include it, saying it’s too much for a drama watched by both adults and young teens, many have stood for it, arguing that it is an issue that must be highlighted in society today.

Meanwhile, KBS Nice Guy continues to pull in number ratings for 10 PM, with one episode left to go. KBS Shut Up Family was canceled due to a friendly soccer match between South Korea and Australia.

An emotional picture of JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun was recently released.

Park plays the role of Han Jung Woo on MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday series Missing You. He drew a lot of attention by appearing in the first and second episodes of the series.

After the series aired, people responded: “I can understand why Han Jung Woo looked so sad when he appeared on the second episode.” “I can’t wait to see Park’s emotional eyes during his performance.” “I think the series will become a sorrowful melodrama.”

Park Yoo Chun made a short but strong early appearance.

On the Thursday episode of MBC Weds/Thurs drama "I Miss You," Park Yoo Chun appeared towards the end. He plays the older version of Yeo Jin Goo and people are wondering why he is appearing so early.

The episode depicted the process of Han Jung Woo (Yeo Jin Goo) and Lee Soo Yeon (Kim So Hyun) becoming closer friends. Though he finds out that she is the daughter of a murderer, he still decides to become friends with her as the two of them find themselves becoming outcasts in the same school.

On the other hand, detective Sung Ho (Jun Kwang Ryul) confesses to Soo Yeon's mother that Soo Yeon's father is not the real murderer and her mother decides to live with Sung Ho, taking Soo yeon with her.

The two families seem to be getting along well for a short while and Jung Woo is also there. As young Soo Yeon writes "I Miss You" on the wall, thinking about Jung Woo, Park Yoo Chun appears and says, "I'm just waiting for today. Today. I think I'm going to go crazy."

JYJ‘s Yoochun shared his thoughts on the first episode of the new MBC drama ‘I Miss You‘.

On November 8 KST, Yoochun posted to JYJ’s official Facebook: “Did you watch the broadcast yesterday? [I miss you and feel so sorry I could go crazy]. These days, I read the script and say, ‘I’m going to go crazy,’ a lot. Please give ‘I Miss You’ lots of love,” making a reference to his character Han Jung Woo’s lines in the drama.

He also shared the above photo from the first script reading session.

[NEWS] Song Ji Hyo promotes Park Yoo Chun’s new drama ‘Missing You’

Actress Song Ji Hyo updated her facebook page on 9th November, saying “Yuchun, thank you for coming to my premiere yesterday! Great photo of you! Go, Yuchun!” with a photo of herself posing in front of a poster from drama ‘Missing You’.

According to her update, she visited MBC radio station to promote “Jakal is Coming” and took a picture with Yuchun’s poster in the lift immediately upon seeing it.

‘Missing You’ started airing on 7th November, it has received good responses from the audience due to the excellent acting of the child actors. Park Yoo Chun’s first appearance was in episode 2, although it was a short appearance but he has already left a good impression.

In the meanwhile, Song Ji Hyo and JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong’s movie ‘Jackal is Coming’ will be in cinema from 15th November onwards.
